Introduction
This course examines how to select employees. Recruitment and selection skills Training Course is now recognised as an exciting programme that will bring you up to date on the latest techniques and approaches that are appropriate in Recruitment and selection skills.


Objectives
By the end of this course participants will be able to:


• Understand the objectives and goals of Recruitment and selection skills.
• Know how to choose employees.
• Recognise the techniques for Recruitment and selection skills.
• Understand how to identify the characteristics of effective advertisements.
• Know how to find the right people.
• Know how to undertake effective one-to-one interviews.

Methodology of Training
Effective presentations for each of the topics together with interactive trainer lead sessions of discussion. There will also be practical sessions and the participants have the opportunity to practice and experience. Role-plays, case studies, DVD's, videos, small group work, exercises and feedback will be used to facilitate learning.

    •    Design a selection process which will ensure that the best people are recruited.
    •    Plan and undertake effective one-to-one interviews.

  • Day 2:


    •    Explain the legal, social and political context of recruitment and selection.
    •    Recognise the importance of using a range of selection tools. 

  • Day 3:


    •    Put together an appropriate person specification comprising well-written competencies. 
    •    Differentiate between those candidates who 'do a good interview' and those that can
    'do a good job'.

  • Day 4:


    •    Arrive at soundly-based selection decisions combining information from a variety of
    sources and ensuring the support of all interested parties.
    •    Plan how to make effective interviews.

  • Day 5:


    •    Identify the characteristics of effective advertisements which will attract the right
     candidates, comply with legislation.
    •    How to add to the diversity of an organization?
